摘要
法眼文益祖师的禅法的基本特征,在其随罗汉桂琛禅师参法时已经形成,那就是"若论佛法,一切见成"八个字,其后虽然他又做了种种发挥,但都不离这一基本特征。是通过其师祖玄沙师备的唯识论和理事观加以改铸发展而成的,在唯识论思想中格外突出了缘生论的因素。文益祖师接化学人的根本方法,在禅宗诸门派中显得格外具有特色。那就是他接化学人的语句似乎十分平常,但是语句中却深藏着机锋,有当机觌面即能使得初参者转凡入圣者。"先利济"三个字便是法眼宗接化学人的根本方法,用现代的话说就是顺着对方的话头,加以开导,依其根器之利钝,随缘点化,在开化的过程中灵巧应用接化之机法,而令学人体得佛性之殊妙。这种灵活的禅法,当然还是继承了六祖慧能大师传续下来的风格,但也具有法眼文益祖师自己的创造与发展,值得我们认真参究悉心体会。
