李之仪诗、词、文章皆擅,词作受到苏轼的影响,将男女之情、身世之感、羁旅之愁等内容纳入词中,扩大了词的题材。其词作抒情言志、写景咏物、酬唱应答,突破了婉约词派狭窄的内容,使词能够反映较广阔的现实生活,在羁旅迁谪之感与人生无常之叹中展现出一种言有尽而意无穷的风韵。

As an outstanding poet and essayist,Li Zhiyi was influenced by Su Shi in his writing of Song Ci,a style of verse popular in Song Dynasty. He expanded his scope of writing by incorporating love between men and women,feeling of life and sorrow on lonely journeys into his works to reveal his thoughts and respond to friends,and freed Song Ci from the restraints of Wan Yue School,a style of Song ci featuring implicitness and euphemistical language. His achievements show that Song Ci can be used to reflect a wide range of life,and present an exclusive charm with finite words and infinite meaning to the readers in his writing about the feeling on uncertainties of life and fate.
