市镇叙事:一个亟待深入的文学研究新视域

Town Narration:a New Horizon in Literary Studies and Needs to be Explored in Depth

市镇介于都市和乡村之间,是乡村的扩大、都市的缩小。在中国现代市镇小说文本里,市镇最基本的功能就是标明故事发生的地点,它既是作家的想象空间也是其叙事资源。市镇的功能常常超出了文本,它既呈现了鲜明的地域特点和文化内涵,又包含了现代性质素和都市文化的内涵,还与传统文化息息相依。"市镇叙事"是一个古今中外一直都存在的文学现象,只是未能引起学界的充分关注而在一定程度上处于被忽视的状态。"市镇叙事"的提出,使我们对中国现代文学的认识超越了传统的"乡土文学—都市文学"的二元对立的划分模式,形成了"乡土—市镇—都市"三元并立的划分模式。中国现代市镇文学作家多,作品丰富,内涵深广,亟待深入开拓研究。

Town is intermediate between the country and the city,and it is the expansion of the country and the reduction of the city.In the texts of Chinese modern town novels,the fundamental function of town is to mark the places of stories.The town is writers＇ imagination space and narrative resource as well.The function of town goes usually out of texts.The town presents distinct regional characteristics and cultural connotations,contains factors of modernity and connotations of city culture,and is closely associated with Chinese traditional culture.Town narration,a literary phenomenon existed in modern or ancient times,in China or elsewhere,has not been paid enough attention to by academic circle,therefore it has been in a state of being neglected to a certain extent.Because of the advancing of the concept of town narration,our understanding of Chinese modern literature transcends the traditional partition mode of binary oppositions：country literature—city literature,and forms the partition mode of ternary system：country literature-town literature-city literature.Modern Chinese town literature includes a large number of writers and a great amount of works,has deep and wide connotations,and needs to be explored in depth.
