The paper briefly describes the position and specialties of ancient Xinzhou Xiurong city, analyzes ancient Xiurong city protection and development status in urbanization process. Starting form aspects of building protection system, cultivating special industry, improving environ-ment quality and development tourism industry, it puts forward ancient Xiurong city protection and development strategies from the aspect of new urbanization.
