The paper introduces the concept and types of the outer consolidation technique in existing structures, analyzes the seismic performance of the outer structure after the consolidation from the masonry structure, framework structure, and shearing walls, and points out some improve-ment suggestions of the outer consolidation technique and its development according to its problems.
