On Traffic Lines in Region of Yiwul Mountain in Liao Dynasty

医巫闾地区在辽代处于较为特殊的地位,是辽代几位帝后的陵寝之地。其交通发展在辽代也达到一个高潮,为辽西通往辽东的必经之地。不仅与傍海道相连接进而拓展了中原通往辽东的交通路线,还在承袭前代的基础上完善了辽中京与辽东京的驿路;同时,谒陵路线、行军路线、内河航运穿插其中,形成以其为中心的重要交通网络。

As a place of special status in Liao Dynasty, the region of Yiwulü Mountain has been chosenas the burial ground for several empresses of Liao Dynasty, making it reach the peak in the development oftraffic at that time. The region has become the only way from western Liaoning Province to eastern LiaoningProvince, and vice versa. Its connection to the seaside road extends the line from Central Plains （comprisingthe middle and lower reaches of the Huanghe River） to eastern Liaoning Province, and makes perfect the postroad from Zhongjing to Dongjing in Liao Dynasty. In addition, the traffic lines centered on the region of Yiwulü Mountain are interwoven with other lines such as tomb-visiting line, the army march line and the rivetransport line.
