Collecting, Compiling and Representing Information on Hong Kong Literary Activities──The Experience of the Hong Kong Literary Activities Search

对文学研究者来说,文学活动数据是很有参考价值的原始素材,但搜集起来却十分繁琐。一直以来,图书信息界对这种信息需求未有充分的关注,遑论提出解决方案。文章以香港中文大学图书馆的"香港文学活动搜寻"为例,提出满足文学活动信息需求的可行模式。首先回顾香港文学活动数据整理的概况,然后简述建立"香港文学活动搜寻"的经验,最后从版权处理、数据整合与局限、功能定位等方面讨论建立"香港文学活动搜寻"的挑战及其响应。

Information on literary activities is a valuable resource for literary studies though this kind of data is difficult to collect. There has been no attempt in the past to fulfill this information need by the profession.The authors use the Hong Kong Literary Activities Search developed by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library as an example to showcase a feasible model of providing information on literary activities. This paper reviews the current status of compiling the information on Hong Kong literary activities,and discusses the experience and challenges of developing the Hong Kong Literary Activities Search from the perspectives of copyright issue, data integration and limitation,and database functionalities.
