From child wife to DINK family: the principle of biorelativity and human society

摘要 人类是高级生物,但适用于人类社会的生物理论却很少。生物相对论是指生命的两个基本性状即繁殖力和寿命间的反向关系。本文试用这一关系分析人类社会从多子多孙的传统观念到少生、不生的丁克家庭和独身主义的社会风俗时尚转变的生物学基础和必然性。撰写过程中,还意外地发现了"北方人为什么比南方人高"这一有趣问题的解释。 Humans are high-class organisms. Yet there are few biological theories which may apply to human society. Darwinian evolution is surely not. The principle of biorelativity posits a negative relationship between fecundity and lifespan, the two basic genetic traits. This paper delineates how the extension of life expectancy in modern society shapes the transition of family pattern, In the process of writing the paper, I unexpectedly figured out a logical explanation for a longstanding biological phenomenon of Chinese society: northerners are far taller than southerners.
