A topological analysis of clause complexes

拓扑学视角凸显范畴间或多或少的相似度,提供了与类型学视角互补的、有益的分析。在拓扑学视角下,本文探讨了汉语小句复合过程中的连续统现象,具体分析了逻辑语义增强与详述中的情景扩充、配列扩充以及衔接序列在词汇语法层的渐变体现以及并列/主从小句复合体与词组复合体连续统。研究结果表明,拓扑学视角下的小句复合体研究可以更深一步了解小句、小句成分(包括词组复合体)与(并列、主从)小句复合体之间的区分与关联,为传统语法中的复句界定难题提供了系统功能语言学解释。

A topological perspective makes explicit how categories are more or less alike, thus providing a useful and complementary way to a typological perspective. The study, from a topological perspective, discusses clause complex continuums in Chinese. It first explores the realization of clines of circumstantial augmentation, tactic augmentation and cohesive link in logico-semantic enhancement and elaboration in clause complexes, and then analyzes the continuums of paratactic or hypotactic clause complexes and word complexes. The results show that the topological analysis of clause complexes provides a better understanding of differences and connections between clauses / clause elements(including word complexes) and clause complexes, and offers a systemic functional interpretation of the classification of complex sentences in Chinese.
