摘要
语言学界例如结构主义语言学派和认知语言学派对英语的一词多义现象有较深入的研究。汉语"使得、使成为"对应的英语词汇有make、get、cause、have、render等,前几个词汇是高频词,而render对我国的外语学习者来说,使用频率却很低。对于多义词render而言,探究其语义的不同义项、使用的语境和相应的句法及英汉翻译,对我们的二语习得不无裨益。通过国外语料库的研究分析,发现该词对英语本族语者而言,在口语和书面语中皆有使用;该词多用于学术性的句法环境。
Linguists of Structuralism and Cognitive Linguistics had made deep probe into polysemy or polysemant. English words like make, get, cause, have, render, have same meaning to some extent, but the latter one, render is seldom used for English learners in China, given the situation that the former ones are used with high frequency. It tends to be much helpful for our second language acquisition to make research on its intrinsic meaning, context, semantics, as well as application correspondingly. Through the analysis of this research, render is commonly used by English native speaker. Meanwhile it is often used in academic context. Therefore this research offered useful instruction on our vocabulary paraphrase and semantics acquisition.
