We described the aim, relevant standards and principles of flies prevention and control in the municipal solid waste and night soil treatment facilities, summarized the species, characteristics and several prevention and control technologies of the flies in the treatment facilities, then introduced the targeted prevention and control technologies to different species flies. Finally, we proposed relevant suggestions for the misconceptions in flies prevention and control.
