成中英早年关于墨家逻辑及中国古代逻辑思想有非常深入的观点。他认为,中国古代逻辑的研究可以从三个层次来加以展开,即关于明晰阐述的推理和论证的逻辑理论、关于隐含的逻辑模式和语义学和综合的联结词和范畴、关于真理和必然性和相关的哲学主题。成中英关于墨家逻辑及中国古代逻辑思想的研究成果和研究方法,迄今值得我们认真学习、深入体会和总结研究。

In Chung-Ying Cheng＇s early years he had very deepen thought about Mohist logic and ancient Chinese logical thought. He thought that we could study Mohist logic and ancient Chinese logical thought from three levels. First, with regard to the explicit formulation of problems in logical theories of inference and argument. Second,with regard to the implicit patterns of logical, semantic, and synthetic connections and categorizations. Third, with regard to the philosophical concerns with problems of truth,necessity, reality, experience, and related subjects. Today, Chung-Ying Cheng＇s research results and research methods about Mohist logic and ancient Chinese logical thought are worthy of our careful study, deep understanding, summary and research.
