Actual Efforts are Important for Firmly Keeping Ideals and Faiths:Based on Historical and Practical Considerations

坚定理想信念,是共产党人讲党性的基本要求,因此,必须补好理想信念这个精神上的"钙"。尽管实现共产主义是一个相当长的历史过程,但党员不能动摇共产主义的信念,革命前辈以自己的行动诠释了理想信念的力量,在实践中必须将党的最高纲领与最低纲领统一起来。在当下,坚定想想信念的重点就是要增强对中国特色社会主义的自觉与自信,党员干部必须以马克思主义理论的思想利器来武装自我,从而坚持坚定正确的政治方向。

Firm ideals and faiths are the basic requirement for the party spirit of Chinese communists ; therefore,we must supplement the spiritual ＂calcium＂ of ideals and faiths. Although it is a very long process to realizecommunism, communists must not falter in the faith of communism. The revolutionary pioneers have interpretedthe force of ideals and faiths by their actions, and we must unify the maximum program with the minimum pro-gram in our practice. Presently, the key for keeping firm ideals and faiths is to enhance the self - consciousnessand confidence in socialism with Chinese characteristics. Party member cadres must arm themselves with the ide-ological weapon of Marxism, so as to persist in the correct political direction.
