Lillian and Albion, characters in both novels Lillian's Story and Dark Places written by Kate Grenville, each present gender roles that can polarize both men and women. This paper analyzes their polarized gender roles, their paranoid-schizoid positions and the factors in contributing to their borderline personality disorder(BPD). The high tension between the two genders will victimize both sides and such an idea indicates the transition for the author from radical feminism to post-feminism.
