摘要
作为概念隐喻理论的新发展,多模态隐喻在叙事电影中的应用值得我们关注和探讨。文章借助多模态隐喻的研究成果,以2010年奥斯卡获奖影片《飞屋环游记》为例,将多模态隐喻与电影叙事相结合,讨论影片中"旅行隐喻"SPG图式的四个层面:旅行/定位、探寻、时间和故事层面,并分析这些层面在语言、视觉和听觉模态共同作用下的整合过程,进而揭示多模态隐喻叙事的全过程,以期使该影片的研究视角更加多元化,同时促使观影者能对影片有更深入的理解。
Multimodal metaphor is a new development of the Conceptual Metaphor Theory(CMT), and its application in narrative films is worthy of our attention and discussion. Based on the recent research findings about multimodal metaphor, this paper, taking the 2010 Oscar Award film Up for example, combines multimodal metaphor with cinematic narration as a way to analyze the "journey" metaphor, the four levels of source-path-goal(SPG) schema--journey/relocation, quest, time and story levels in this film as well as their blending with the help of linguistic, visual and aural modes, and further explores the process of multimodal metaphor narration. The study hopes to open up new dimensions in the research and deepen the viewers' understanding of this film.
