Analysis of The Thread From an Eco-feminist Point of View

维多利亚·希斯洛普在其长篇小说《线》中,以独特的生态学视野,揭示了在男性霸权文化价值观下的弱势群体——女性、弱势种族、有色人种、劳动阶级、生态环境等处于二元等级制价值体系中的他者地位,在争取平等和主体意识的建构过程中受到客体身份的束缚。构建新的多元文化价值体系,树立包容意识、淡化边缘理念,才能逐渐消解弱势群体他者地位的焦虑感,促进多元文化社会的和谐发展。

From a unique ecological perspective,Victoria Hislop presented in her novel The Thread her reflection on the situation of the vulnerable groups in a patriarchal society. The vulnerable groups,including the female,the minority ethnic group,the colored people,the working class and the ecological environment,had been playing the role of＂the other＂in a binary hierarchy value system,and were bound by the identity as an object when fighting for equality and constructing the subject consciousness. To reduce the anxiety felt by the disadvantaged as ＂the other＂and promote the harmonious development of a multi-cultural society,we need to establish a multi-cultural value system,stress tolerance for different values and weaken the idea of the vulnerable groups being on the fringe of society.
