Industrial Regeneration: Redevelopment trends from Europe to China between tourism andproduction Different examples from Europe to China, from King’s Cross in London to famous 798 Art Districtin Beijing, suggest the existence of a third way option for the redevelopment of urban industrial heritage, whichconsists in its reconversion into productive spaces, being them offices or artists’ ateliers, open to a wide range ofpublic and able to attract visitors. In this framework, policymakers should ensure transformations with the doublegoal of preserve and re-enable the industrial heritage, wheres architects have to mediate between policies andtheir materialization through strategic planning, innovative thinking, preservation awareness, and good design.
