New Exploration of the Lee Family and “Li Shunchang Clothing Store”

李顺昌服装店是苏州开设的第一家西服店,后搬到南京,是当时南京最有影响力的西服店之一。关于该店及该店创办者和经营者李氏家族,虽之前也有专门研究和述及,但有些出入,甚至错误。笔者以新史料及实地调查为基础,就李顺昌服装店发展轨迹和李氏家族历史略作考证。

Li Shunchang Clothing Store is the first western-style suit store opened in Suzhou. Later it moved to Nanjing and was one of the most influential suit stores in Nanjing at the time. Concerning the store and the Lee Family, its founder and operator, although there had been specialized research and discussions, there were some discrepancies and faults. Based on the new data and field investigation, this paper explores the developing path of the clothing store and the history of the Lee Family.
