The Development and Evolution of Veranda Style Architecture in Yantaishan

鸦片战争的爆发,使中国进入了半封建半殖民地社会。西方殖民者开始在中国租地建房,而殖民者在中国最早建造的西式建筑便是外廊式建筑。这种适合在热带、亚热带地区的建筑形式同样伴随着殖民者来到中国北方地区。通过本文对烟台山不同时期外廊式建筑的研究,总结出外廊式建筑发展与演变的一般规律。

The outbreak of the Opium War,China entered the semi-feudal and semi-colonial society.The western colonists began leasing land and building house in China,while the earliest western style building which settlers built in China is the veranda style architecture.This style that is suitable for the tropical and subtropical regions was caught to the northern part of China by the settlers. Through the study of Yantaishan in different periods of the veranda style architecture,summarize out the general rule of the development and evolution of veranda style architecture.
