Reconsideration of the Classical Prescripiton of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction

旋覆代赭汤最早见于《伤寒论》,是治疗痰气痞证的代表方。旋覆代赭汤证病因为表证汗法不当或里证吐下过度;其病机包括"中虚""痰逆"两个方面,方中人参专为"中虚"而设,旋覆花、代赭石专为"痰逆"而设;后世医家依本证病机偏重的不同而对旋覆代赭汤随证加减化裁,既用其治疗痰逆引起的嗳气、眩晕、咳血等病,又用治中焦虚寒所致的下利,拓宽了本方的运用范围。

Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction originates from Treatise on Cold Damage and is a representative formula for treating phlegm qi and fullness syndrome. The diseases that this prescription treating are due to improper sweating of external syndrome or excessive vomiting or purging of internal syndrome. The pathogenesis includes： deficiency of the middle energizer and phlegm disturbance.In the formula,Renshen（ Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng） is particularly set for ＂ deficiency of the middle energizer＂ and Xuanfuhua（ Flos Inulae） and Daizheshi（ Haematitum） are particularly set for ＂ phlegm disturbance＂. The later generation of docotors modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction based on the specific syndromes and different emphasis of the pathogenesis. It can not only used to treat belching,dizziness and hemoptysis but also the diarrhea due to deficient cold of the middle energizer,which expands the application scope of this prescription.
