An introduction is given to the operational aspect of different main products of potassium industry and general situation of development of potassium fertilizer industry, and the development of potassium fertilizer industry in 2016 is predicted. It is expected that in 2016, the production capacity and output of potassium fertilizer in China will maintain slow down growth trend, the capacity will increase to nearly 13 200 kt/a （based on KC1）, and the output will be kept at the level of 9 000 kt/a （based on KC1）.
