Discussions between “Republic”and “Modern”:On the Crisis of the Name of Modern Chinese Literature

关于中国现代文学名称问题的讨论,"民国"与"现代"的交锋是现在学界的主流态势。就二者目前交锋的情况来看,关于"现代"概念,不管是从外延还是从内涵上质疑声越来越多。而从一种大文学史观念出发,"民国"概念虽还有待商榷但不可否认已开始被一些学者所接受,显示出一定合理性。在"民国"框架内对中国文学的发展进行梳理既是一种新的文学研究范式,可以重新厘清文学发展的诸多细节,又对文学史的书写,学科建设存在积极意义。

In the discussion on the name of Modern Chinese Literature, ＂Republic＂ has attracted more attention. On the one hand, there are many questions about the extension and the intension of ＂modern＂. On the other hand, in the view of a broad concept of literature,the concept of ＂republic＂ has a certain coherence which has been accepted by some scholars. Moreover according to ＂republic＂, scholars can widen their views not only reviewing the development of literature, but also having positive effects on the writing of literary history and the discipline con- struction.
