Sino-Africa Mining Cooperation: History,Current Situation and Challenges

我国自古便与非洲有矿业贸易往来。新中国成立后,中非矿业合作先后经历了建立政治互信、援助非洲,援助与互利合作相结合,经济合作新发展等三个阶段。进入21世纪以后,中非矿业贸易有了新的发展。中非合作论坛的举办,促进了中非矿业合作进一步发展。同时,中非矿业合作也面临着国际竞争、西方舆论压力、非洲资源民族主义和人才困境等一系列挑战。中非矿业合作前景乐观,依托机制正逐步形成,但仍处于初级阶段,需要共同努力促进其向更高层次发展。

China＇s mining trade with Africa can date back to the ancient times,and after the founding of new China,the Sino-African mining cooperation successively experienced three stages： building political mutual trust and aiding to Africa; aiding and mutually beneficial cooperation; and new economic cooperation development. Since the 21 st century,Sino-Africa mining trade and investment has been developing rapidly,and the China-Africa Cooperation Forum facilitates that progress. At the same time,the Sino-Africa mining cooperation is facing a series of challenges,such as the international competition,the western public opinion pressure,Africa resource nationalism and the shortage of talents. The prospects of Sino-Africa mining cooperation are optimistic,and the mechanism relying on is gradually formed,but it is still in its infancy. Sino-Africa mining cooperation is in need of the joint efforts of both sides to promote the development to a higher level.
