In fiction " Love Medicine",Louise Erdrich describes Indian people's homeless living condition under the twin influence by their own national culture and the white culture during post- colonial and industrial time. This paper discusses Indian people's seeking for the return of their tribal culture, yearns for the regain of their lost land, and pursuing for their national identity and reveals how Indian people persist their own cultural tradition and defend their own tribe's cultural identity even on the edge of subsistence.
