Henri Fayol is one of the important and representative figures in classical theories of management. He, based on his practical management experience,puts forward the well-known general management theories and made remarkable contributions to the academic circles of western management. He also laid the foundation of modern theories of management. This paper combs through the development progress of Fayol＇s ideas of management, evaluates and analyzes the major achievement of the theory and points out the enlightenment of his theory to us.
