摘要
罗伯特·弗罗斯特(Robert Frost,1874-1963)是当代美国著名的诗人和教育家,他对美国的高等教育发展有着重要贡献。综观国内外对弗罗斯特教育思想的研究,国外研究局限于列举他的教育观点或记录他的教育做法,研究不太全面、不太系统;国内更是无人涉足弗罗斯特的教育思想及价值研究。因此,有必要对弗罗斯特的教育思想进行梳理与分析,全面而深刻地认识和挖掘弗罗斯特的高等教育思想的丰富内涵及当代价值。
Robert Frost is not only one of the most famous poets in modem America but also an educator with great contributions to the development of American higher education. However, his education philosophy has not been fully studied. In America some scholars only listed Frost's teaching ideas and practice and in China no schol- ar has mentioned Frost as an educator. Therefore, it is worthwhile to study Frost's higher education philosophy and its modern values.
