Joyce Carol Oates is a modern American author, and her A Garden of Earthly Delights fo- cuses on the relationship between human beings and animals. Oates describes the conflicts between hunters and persons who boycott the hunting and opposition between meat packers and vegetarians, which high- lights the predicament of animal right activists and ethical vegetarians in the society. Oates aims to not on- ly condemn the anthropocentrism ecological ethics which deprive animals of their lives casually, but also make great efforts to promote the ecological ethics of non-anthrooocentrism.
