宋江性格复杂性平议

On the Complexity of Song Jiang's Character

宋江是《水浒传》中性格最为复杂的人物。"家中孝子——郓城押司、江湖好汉——通缉罪犯——梁山头领——朝廷忠臣"的人生轨迹由其性格决定。宋江有四个绰号,是江湖好汉,又是朝廷的忠臣,是"忠"与"义"矛盾的结合体。宋江复杂性格的形成,与他深受儒家和侠家思想影响有关。宋江身上有李白的影子,作者把李白的豪侠精神叠加到了宋江身上。宋江性格的复杂性实质上反映了作者思想的矛盾,作者企图把宋江塑造成一个全忠全孝全义的理想英雄,但自古以来忠孝、忠义往往不能两全。宋江等梁山好汉的悲剧结局,实质上也反映了作者思想和情感上的迷惘与痛苦。

Song Jiang is the most complicated figure in Water Margin. His character contributes to his life path —a filial son in the home,a Yasi（ one low- level official of ancient China） in Yuncheng County,a Jianghu hero,a wanted criminal,the leader of Liangshan heroes,the loyal minister of the court. Song Jiang has four nicknames. He is not only a hero but a loyal minister of the court — a contradictory combination of loyalty and righteousness. The formation of his complicated character is deeply influenced by Confucianism and Chivalrous thoughts. The author attaches Chivalrous spirit of Li Bai to Song Jiang. Essentially,the complexity of Song Jiang’s character reflects the contradiction of the author’s thoughts. The author had intended to shape Song Jiang into the ideal hero with whole loyalty,filial piety,and righteousness. However,for centuries,heroes can’t have loyalty,filial piety,and righteousness at the same time. In fact,the tragic end of Song Jiang and other Liangshan heroes reflects confusion and pain of the author’s thoughts and emotions.
