Sinology and Cultural Soft Power

国学包罗至广,主要应弘扬其中的文化价值和民族精神。国学养育人的心灵,有诸多关于修身成德、培养君子人格的内容,在当代社会仍然起着作用。国学中又有丰富的社会和国家治理的经验与智慧,值得借鉴。国学的内在精神正在回到我国广大城乡,其精神价值慢慢地,重新成为中国人内在的心灵。这关涉到中国人的文化认同、伦理共识与终极关怀。国学就是文化软实力。中国文化的重建,不仅有助于国民的文化认同与凝聚力的增强,还可以给现代世界提供新的营养。

The content that Sinology includes is very wide, and we should primarily promote the cultural value and national spirit within it. Sinology can raise the human mind, because there are many details about self- cultivation and attaining virtue and fostering the gentleman personality. In contemporary society, they still play an important role. Sinology contains abundant experience and wisdom about social and national governance, all of which worth learning. The inner spirit of sinology is returning to China＇s vast rural and urban areas and again becomes the inner soul of the Chinese people. It is concerning the cultural identity, ethical consensus and ultimate care of Chinese people. Sinology is the cultural soft power. The reconstruction of Chinese culture not only contributes to enhance the cultural identity and cohesion of the citizens, but especially can provide new nutrition for the modern world.
