Appreciation of Buddhist Cultural Relics Stored in the Jiangxing Museum

公元前六世纪,释迦牟尼在古代南亚次大陆北部地区创立的佛教,于东汉明帝永平十年（67年）传入中国。三国吴赤乌年间西域僧人康僧会创立的海盐金粟寺,为江南最早的佛寺之一,因此嘉兴成为江南佛教流传最早的地区之一。魏晋南北朝时期中原战乱频繁,江南一带偏安一隅,佛教盛行,所谓＂南朝四百八十寺,多少楼台烟雨中＂。

Jiangxing is home to many eminent monks and lay Buddhists during millennial Buddhist history. There are also numerous historical sites of Buddhism. The article introduces Buddhist cultural relics that has been handed down or unearthed in Jiangxing and are stored in the Jiangxing Museum.
