Objective: To observe and analyze the clinical effects of gelatin sponge particles combined with spring ring and simple gelatin sponge particle embolization in the treatment of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Methods: Eighty-four patients with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage treated in our hospital from June, 2010 to June, 2014 were taken as the research objects. Two groups of patients recieved the selective embolization of celiac artery, and accord- ing to different material selection, the control group(42 patients) were given the simple gelatin sponge particles emboliza- tion while in the observation group(42 patients) were treated with the gelatin sponge particles combined with spring ring. Then, the patients were followed up for 3 ~ 12 months, and the clinical effect of the two groups was statistically compared. Results: The effective rate in the observation group of 95.24% was higher than that in the control group of 80. 95%, and the difference had statistical significance ( P 〈 0. 05 ) ; The recurrence rate in the observation group of 4.76% was lower than that in the control group of 16. 67%, and the difference had statistical significance (P 〈 0. 05). Conclusion: The bronchial artery embolization in the treatment of selective embolization of celiac artery is a simple, safe and effective method to treat the injury of the body, and the effect is high and recurrence rate is low in the treatment by embolization combined with a variety of materials, which should be promoted in the clinical application.
