The Cause,Debate and Prospects on the Kra Isthmus

从历史的角度梳理克拉地峡问题的来龙去脉,剖析数百年来有关国家在这个问题上的利益角逐,从理论上廓清开凿克拉运河的重要性和必要性,提出切实可行的建议和措施,是一件十分有意义的事情。从克拉运河开凿动议的提出到今天,已经过去了数百年,开凿动议迟迟不能付诸实践,主要原因是泰国无力独自承担开凿运河的费用以及泰国政府对运河南部地区政治离心倾向的担忧,最为关键的还是泰国政府在运河开凿问题上的犹豫不决。

It is important and interesting to make clear origin and development of Kra Isthmus issues,analyze benefit contention from countries concerned for centuries,clean up importance and necessity of digging Kra Isthmus in theory,and put forward suggestions and measures. Though motion of digging Kra Isthmus was set for hundreds of years,it did not turn into reality up to today. Major reason is that Thai government can not bear costs of digging Kra Isthmus,and worries about tendency of separation from the southern part,the most crucial one is Thai government's indecision in digging kra lsthmus.
