Dickens＇ works mainly takes humanism as the dominant ideology, with sharp eyes to reveal the evils of capitalist society in the era of British Vitoria. The humanitarian spirit in his novels derives from the age in which he lives. His novels show the humanitarian spirit through the characters in the novel. He ad- vocates that everyone is an independent entity; we should respect the individual rights of equality and free- dom and not take individual as a tool. From a humanitarian point of view, this paper analyzes the humani- tarian spirit embodied in Dickens＇ novels.
