Analysis on the Particularity of the Japanese Adjective of“Ooi”

经考察发现,形容词"多い"的语用功能区别于众多形容词极具特殊性:"多い"必须以主谓结构定语从句的形式才能修饰名词,从句与其所修饰的名词之间的关系由名词的属性决定;因其语义属性不能体现物体的性质,所以不能直接修饰名词;"多い"具有与名词、形态副词相似的性质。同时,将其它比较特殊的形容词"少ない""遠い""近い""悪い"的特殊之处进行了简单的归纳分析。

As it is discovered in this paper, the Japanese adjective of ＂ooi＂ has some special particularities as its the pragmatic functions are quite distinct from those of other adjectives： ＂ooi＂ can be employed to modify nouns only as predicative of subject-predicate structure attributive clauses, and the relation be- tween the attributive clauses and the nouns is determined by the property of the noun; ＂ooi＂ cannot be em- ployed to modify nouns directly as its semantic properties cannot reflect the property of object; ＂ooi＂ shares similar property with nouns and adverbs. Meanwhile, this paper also analyzes the particularities of other special adjectives such as ＂sukunai＂, ＂tool＂, ＂chikai＂ and ＂warui＂ as well.
