This is the second time the Journal of Computer Science and Technology organizes a special section on data management and data mining, in the hope of presenting a selection of exciting new progress on this blooming area. I am very honored to again coordinate the selection process. We are thrilled to report that the special section received 57 submissions. After the thorough review and revision process, 10 are accepted and published here.
