Change from Prankish Boys to Mature Teenagers——The Changing Image of Boys in Japan's Newspaper Comic Strips before World War Ⅱ

本文以在东京发行的主要报纸上连载的儿童漫画为研究对象,主要论述20世纪初期到中叶的近半个世纪的男孩形象的变迁。男孩形象经历了从喜欢恶作剧的孩童到近代化过程中的男孩、自立强大的男孩、效忠国家的小国民的转变,每个时期呈现出不同的特征。总体来说,男孩形象随着社会风潮与儿童观的变化而变化,无论是性格还是行为都呈现出逐渐成长的趋势。

This article elaborates on the image changes of boys in Japan from the beginning to the middle of the 20 th Century,focusing on examples from children＇s serial comic strips published in Tokyo newspapers. The image of boys changed in this period from prankish boys to mature teenagers who are strong and independent, loyal to their country in an era of modernization, taking on different appearances in different ages. As a whole, the image of boys changed along with social trends and views of children, and grew mature in areas of both character and behavior.
