This paper probes into "the structural principle" of the works by Salman Rushide, the most influential and controversial writer in the post-Cold War era, with special attention to the political platform and ethical significance of his postmodern and postcolonial fairy tales. In his oeuvre, post- colonialism manifests itself as an ideology, and postmodemism as a writing strategy. Rushdie interacts morally with his vast readership in the name of "explicit authors", while publicizing cultural pluralism, economic liberalism, military individualism and political anarchism. His fairy tale poetics is thus tinted with some sort of literary genesis, which gives rise to a textual politics on a rhetorical level, basically a kind of utopianism.
