Based on an equal, two-way perspective, this research explores social distance between oneself and other ethnic groups. Using the revised social distance scale, the research investigates 54 Kazak, 195 Han, and 234 Uyghur college students. The results indicate that Han, Kazak, and Uyghur students show in-group preference. In other words, they would like to carry out close social interactions with in-group members. The social interactions between Kazak and Uyghur students are significantly closer than that of Kazak with Hui, Mongolian, and Tibetan.
