Cultural Identity and Cultural Awareness in English Education of Arts Academies

艺术院校由于其特殊性,受传统教育理念的影响重视专业技能教育而忽视文化素质培养,使得学生的文化素养有待进一步的提高。文章主要通过对艺术院校英语教育现状的分析,探讨了在艺术院校英语教育中加强文化教育的对策。帮助学生树立正确的文化意识与价值观念,提升学生的民族文化认同感,批判地吸收外域文化。

Affected by the traditional education notions, both educators and learners always set great store by education and professional skills, but ignore the cultural quality cultivation. Thus, due to the particularity of arts academies, cultural accomplishment of the students in arts academies need to be further improved. By analyzing the status quo of the English education of arts academies, this article explores the art of culture education in college English education strategies to help students establish correct values, enhance students＇ national and cultural identity and absorb foreign culture critically.
