Objective To explore and evaluate the effects of stationary point intervention model conducted by com- munity based organization (CBO) to the men who have sex with men (MSM). Methods A stationary point intervention model was implemented in a MSM bath center during Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2013. Investigations related to acquired immune defi- ciency syndrome (AIDS) prevention knowledge and behaviors of AIDS prevention were conducted among participants before and after the intervention. Results After one-year intervention, the awareness rate of knowledge about AIDS prevention was increased from 85.25% to 95.50%. The ratio of never-use condom with male in the past year was decreased from 7.00% to 1.00%, the ratio of always-use condom with male in the past year was increased from 52. 00% to 79. 00%. The levelof ac- quiring AIDS-related service and intervention was improved significantly, and the percentage of acquiring condom was in- creased from 77.00% to 95.00%. The percentage of acquiring peer education was increased from 33.00% to 91.00%. The percentage of acquiring counseling and testing of HIV was increased from 66. 00% to 92.00%. The above index showed sig- nificant statistical difference between before and after the intervention ( P 〈 0. 05 ). Conclusion Stationary point interven- tion model was an effective intervention model contributing to an increase in knowledge of AIDS prevention and decreasing high risk behavior in MSM population.
