20世纪上半叶日本学者对中国数学史的研究在东亚乃至世界科学史界都发挥了重要作用,其中代表性人物是:三上义夫、林鹤一、藤原松三郎和小仓金之助。他们从事了现代意义上的中国数学史研究;从文化史或者社会史的视角研究数学史,在编史学方面具有重要意义。

In the first half of the 20th century, Japanese scholars played an important role in the study of the history of Chinese mathematics in the science community of East Asia and even the world. Representative scholars include Yoshio Mikami, Tsuruichi Hayashi, Matsusabro Fujiwara and Kinnosuke Ogura. Their research on the history of Chinese mathematics was outstanding, and their perspectives on cultural and social history had profound significance in the historiography of science.
