On Translation is an academic work about translation studies produced by Paul Ricoeur in his late years. It includes three pa- pers which put forward such core concepts as ＂linguistic hospitality＂, ＂construction of the comparable＂ and ＂translating the untranslat- able＂, giving a systemic introduction about the translation philosophy views of Ricoeur. The writer applies hermeneutics into translation studies so as to bring a ＂hermeneutics turn＂ in translation studies. In addition, he breaks the traditional linguistics paradigm and cultural paradigm in translation studies, stepping up translation studies into ethics paradigm.
