Functional Translation Theory and Translation Strategies of Culture- Specific Items in Ethnic Classics——A case study of Daur Uqun Narrative Classics: Shaolang and Daifu

以《达斡尔族乌钦叙事诗经典英译:少郎和岱夫》英文译本作为研究对象,以对等理论为依据,运用功能翻译理论探讨民族典籍英译中文化专有项的翻译策略,提出以"异化"为主导策略,重点探讨了"直译"和"意译"在达斡尔语文化专有项英译中的重要作用,确保成功传递达斡尔族叙事诗的文化价值,为其他类似民族典籍文化专有项的翻译提供一些思路和方法。

Based on equivalence theory and using the functional translation theory,the paper takes the English version of Daur Uqun narrative poem Shaolang and Daifu as the research object to explore the translation strategies of culture- specific items in ethnic classics. The paper advocates ＂foreignizing translation＂as the main strategy and explores the great significance of＂literary translation＂and＂free translation＂used in culture- specific item translation so as to keep the cultural values of Daur Uqun and offer some ideas and methods for some other translations which are similar to culture- specific items in ethnic classics.
