The Comparison of Animals' Metaphorical Meanings in Tibetan and English

在藏语和英语文化中有着极其丰富的动物词汇,其隐喻文化内涵也相当丰富。文章结合藏英文化背景,对藏英动物词汇隐喻意义的共性、个性和空缺三种情况进行了分析,以促进藏英文化的交流。

Animals play an important role in the formation of human history. Both the Tibetan and the English cultures are rich in animal words which have rich metaphorical meanings. Based on the differences in cultural backgrounds, this paper discusses the similarities, differences and vacancies of animals＇ metaphors in Tibetan and English, which enable people to promote the communication and integration of culture.
