Skepticism on the Origin of Language as an Academic Issue

语言文字是如何起源的,中西方学术界有很多种说法,但观点和时间定位都相距甚远,没有充分的证据。具体地,汉语和汉字的起源也是众说纷纭,缺乏基本的公论。迄今为止,关于语言的起源有不同假说,这些假说总是在科学和非科学之间游移,其观点和结论都缺乏充分的实证材料。语言的起源是一个漫长的过程,语言的过程并没有在语言本身中留存下来,所以也就无法通过语言本身来研究语言的起源。语言的起源是一个比艺术的起源更为渺茫的问题,是不可能讨论清楚的问题。

The origin of language is an issue to which there are many answers in the Chinese and Western academia,but their views and the time orientation are far apart and there is no adequate evidence. Specifically,there are various answers to the origin of the Chinese language and Chinese characters,but there is not a basic agreement in this aspect. By far,there have been different hypotheses on the origin of language,and most of which are either scientific or unscientific,and their ideas and conclusions are short of sufficient empirical materials. The origin of language is a long process which has not been retained in language,so it is impossible to study the origin of language by language itself. The origin of language,an issue more vague than the origin of art,is unlikely to be clarified.
