李向东、王增如的《丁玲传》是最得丁玲神韵的一部传记,它精准地概括了丁玲孤傲、倔强和反抗的精神个性,并把这一精神个性特征贯穿到对其革命经历、文学创作及文坛交往等方面的阐述中。一方面,它细致地梳理和阐述了丁玲及其创作与革命的关系,以体现其精神个性,也呈现了20世纪中国革命与文学之间的错综复杂关系;另一方面,又通过对丁玲不同时期作品思想内蕴和人物精神的阐释,及对丁玲坚持不懈创作精神的发掘来体现其精神个性;同时,还从丁玲独特的精神个性角度及其所形成的对创作的执著精神和对革命的坚执信念等方面解读其与文坛的恩怨纠葛。而这些都是以一种质朴、平实和节制的写实风格呈现出来,这样一来,看似普通平实的传记书写实则蕴含着一种内在精神气韵,真正做到了深情而不纵情,平实而不平淡。
