摘要
陈鸿璧是中国翻译史上最早独立从事翻译实践的女翻译家之一。她的翻译方法不同于辛亥革命前后的译写模式,不是源文本的忠实再现,而是以其细腻的译笔呈现不同于男性译者的话语方式,凸显两性审美差异。更为重要的是,在她翻译的作品中女性一方面体现中国传统文化和父权制度对女性的期待,另一方面表现出女性拥有超越男性的才智、独立的人格与个性。作为中国女性翻译文学的源头,陈鸿璧的翻译展示出女性的话语方式、女性的视角和心理体验,传递女性对父权社会和传统两性关系的不满,建构译者理想化的女性形象。
Chen Hong-pi is among the first women who did translation independently. Her translations differ from the dominant transla- tion model during Revolution of 1911. Since she stuck in a way to the original texts when rewriting, her meticulous depiction of the environments and inner worlds made her translations unique and showed the aesthetic differences between males and females. Moreover, the female characters in her translations meet the Chinese social norms for the females, but at the same time betray them. Those females are usually smarter than the male characters, and they have independent spirits. Therefore, Chen I-Iong-pi's translations embody female discourses, perspectives and mental feelings, which in fact shows her dissatisfaction with patriarchal society and her ideal about future female images.
