Register is an important concept in Systemic - functional linguistics, which was first put forward by Reid in 1956. And later with the further development of the concept by sociolinguists like Hymes, Gregory, Ellis, etc. and the constant improvement of it by the British linguist Halliday, a complete set of register theory has been eventually formed. From the three aspects of register： field, tenor, and mode, this article attempts to analyze the lyrics of the network popular song Small Apple under the guidance of Halliday＇ s register theory, aiming to reveal the aesthetic feeling expressed by the song and the reason why it is widely circulated among the people.
