The Cultural Integration of Miao Immigrants in the United States

美国的民族结构中存在一定比例的苗族人口,他们大多是在上世纪70年代为了躲避战乱而移民过来的。从不同的角度来说明这些生活在截然不同的环境中的苗族人是如何调整自身和家族联盟,采取不同的方法,努力适应当地的生活和环境,并以求更大的发展,通过对这一群体真实情况的描写来尝试揭示促成民族与文化融合的可能途径。

There is smaller part of Miao population in the national structure of the United States;most of these people emigrated to escape the war in the 70＇s of last century. This paper mainly through different angles to show that the Miao population how to adjust oneself and to establish a family alliance in a very different environment,and they tried to adapt to the local life and environment. Through the description of the real situation of Miao population,this paper tries to reveal the possible way to promote national and cultural integration.
