粤北地方志编纂历史源远流长,自南朝宋王韶之纂粤北"地记"的《始兴记》,至唐宋"图经"的兴起,再到明、清时期州府县志的兴盛,粤北南、韶、连三州十余县编纂的地方志,不仅数量大、种类多,而且体例完备,内容丰富,是岭南纂志最多的区域之一。

Abstact： The Local Records Compiling of Northern Guangdong has a long history of history, Wang Shaozhi compiled ＂The Local Records＂Shixing Recordsof Northern Guangdong in Southern Dynasties Song, the rise of＂Map Book＂in Tang and Song Dynasty, and the prosperity of the state and county annals. From then on, a large quantity and variety local records were compiled in Ten counties of Nan, Shao and Lian three states, and it was on one of the largest area of Linnan Records compilation with a complete style and rich content.
